Outreach Director and Founding Staff Member
LUMIN Schools seeks an extraordinary spiritual and instructional team leader to serve as the Outreach Director and Founding School Staff Member of St. John's Lutheran in Beloit, Wis.
In coordination with the leadership of LUMIN Schools and St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Outreach Director will drive the community outreach and enrollment activities of St. John’s Lutheran School, set to open in August, 2019.
The Outreach Director would transition to a founding teacher or leader for St. John’s Lutheran School, a LUMIN school, when opened. The Outreach Director reports directly to the CEO of LUMIN Schools and works in cooperation with the Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran.
Building awareness of the church and establish a new community school
Make connections and learn about the community through church activities
Distribute flyers, canvass the community, and look for school promotional opportunities in the area prior to and during the open enrollment period, February through March 2019
Identify, contact, and form partnerships with potential support organizations
Attend community events
Identify and communicate with potential educational and social services partners
Promote enrollment in the new school
Be present in the community and identify and engage with potential school families
Hold numerous enrollment activities for prospective parents
Facilitate the registration and enrollment process for new families through the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program
Work with LUMIN marketing staff to identify the appropriate tools and venues to assist in promoting the new school
Responsible for overall enrollment success
Implement and collaboratively develop the foundational processes to ensure LUMIN’s mission is realized in the community of Beloit
Provide on-the-ground and strategic support to the building of school operations
Promote St. John's Lutheran as a "choice" employer to teacher candidates who want to share their gifts and faith in Christ and prepare students for a lifetime of success
Establish and implement the foundation for a positive, faith-based school culture
Be a model for this culture, which will provide prospective students with structure, achievements and creativity in the classroom
Participate and provide input into the LUMIN Academic Plan, preparing to implement it at the start of the school year
Work cooperatively and interact positively with students, parents, staff and community
Follow Christian-based philosophy and principles, implement, execute and measure academic success at the classroom and school level
High presence and availability to all students, faculty and parents
Maintain responsibility for the operational and fiscal management of the pre-school launch
Experience leading adults to accomplish ambitious goals in the face of multiple challenges
Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience
Minimum of two (2) years of urban school leadership experience
Master’s Degree (MA or MS) in Educational Leadership preferred
Wisconsin Principal licensure preferred
