Asphalt Testing Solutions & Engineering (ATS) has established itself as an industry leader in quality testing and innovative collaborations in all areas of the asphalt industry and is hiring a Binder Lab Technician. At ATS, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of asphalt products used in the paving industry per AASHTO, ASTM, and other test procedures as needed. The Binder Lab Technician reports to the Binder Lab Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct daily testing of asphalt binder, and asphalt emulsion materials.
· Ensure compliance with Superpave Performance Graded (PG) specifications and all applicable emulsion specifications and standards.
· Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment such as Dynamic Shear Rheometers (DSR), Bending Beam Rheometers (BBR), and Pressure Aging Vessels (PAV)
· Maintain accurate records.
· Conduct equipment maintenance and calibration as needed.
· Maintain a clean and orderly workspace and specifically the lab.

Qualifications:
· A minimum of an associate degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A bachelor’s degree is preferred
· Certification in Asphalt Binder Technician or related field is a plus.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Strong reading comprehension and math skills.
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Able to use laboratory equipment with software for testing and data analysis.
PDH requirements:
· 2 PDH’s annually
· Requirement necessary after year one
