The Pre Admission Testing (PAT) RN will be responsible for the accurate verification of all preoperative requirements for patients ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric.
The PAT RN performs the physical testing on the pre operative patient and performs the interview/pre surgery nursing assessment.
The PAT RN seeks all information prior to the patient entering the hospital. The nurse is responsible to ensure all applicable information is obtained- written, verbal, testing, etc. as well as any and all preoperative nursing interventions that may be necessary for the timely and safe provision of the surgical procedure. The PAT RN works closely with the Pre Op staff, as well as the individual physician offices, and the testing departments within and outside of the hospital.
The PAT RN maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards.
The PAT RN should have experience in a surgical setting in PAT, Pre Op,or MedSurg, highly organized, and have strong sense of team to achieve safe and exceptional patient care.
An Oklahoma RN license is required.
