You will perform and analyze routine to moderately complex Industrial Engineering functions to achieve efficient, cost effective and reliable manufacturing processes, applying mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies.
You will support three unique production areas that perform machining, cable fabrication, and vehicle maintenance. You will be mentored by team leadership as well as existing staff of 4 Industrial Engineers. While you will contribute to several projects, you will also be assigned one primary project, then you, along with all site interns, will present the results of your project at the end of your internship.
Analyzes production processes to determine optimum methods and sequence of performing necessary work considering tools, materials, specifications, equipment, and environment.
Assists in the project management of new and current projects, under technical guidance of higher level engineers or departmental management.
Develops and recommends manufacturing layout plans to optimize the utilization of resources and facilities considering workloads, processes, and product flow.

YOU MUST HAVE
In Spring of 2019, be within 12 Months of completing a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent from an accredited program.
This position requires U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, due to ITAR restrictions.
Must be able to participate in the internship prior to completing your current degree program
Experience with machine shop, cable fabrication, and/or vehicle maintenance processes
Understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing practices
Holds self and others fully accountable for achieving objectives even when requirements change or are difficult to perform
Clearly defines and frames complex issues to ensure the most critical elements are addressed
Finds the ideal balance between making decisions independently and seeking approval when appropriate
