Celebrating our legacy of modern fashion, creativity, individuality, and intrigue by providing every guest with an unparalleled customer experience. We are currently seeking a full-time Personal Shopper at our Madison Avenue flagship store.

The Personal Shopper is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and growing a portfolio of clients while ensuring excellent customer service and delivering outstanding sales-driven results. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Customer Service Delivery and Enhancement
Supports all programs and initiatives in order to enhance the customer experience, increases customer loyalty, and impacts sales.

Demonstrates the priority of customer acknowledgement and service over all other tasks, whether within own area or throughout the store.

Builds a personal relationship with customers on a weekly, and sometimes daily, basis in order to strengthen brand and personal loyalty.

Educates customers about Barneys New York services/offerings (e.g. BNY Credit).

Effectively utilizes Barneys New York technology resources in order to strengthen sales efforts and drive results.

Follows networking strategies in order to develop and enhance client base.

Strengthens return business by connecting with customers for trunk shows, new merchandise arrival, and/or special events in-store.

Formulates and maintains an updated roster of top clients, readily available when needed by management.

Productivity & Overall Performance:
Performs to the standards set forth by management, meeting and/or exceeding business goals.

Delivers overall business growth YOY, commensurate with the store’s expected annual growth.

Communicates business recap with management on weekly & monthly sales performance (vs. goals and expectations) – providing strategic action plans if challenges in meeting goals are anticipated.

Operational & Selling Responsibilities:
Successfully fulfills expectations, from an operational and selling standpoint, as it relates to store processes.

Adheres to store policies and procedures such as the Reserve Policy, Visual Directives, etc.

Communicates effectively with buying team and Assistants.

Partners with Department Manager to establish direct, on-going, and effective communication.

Ensures attendance to store-wide events and scheduled trainings (as selected by management).

Consistently walks selling floors to ensure overall familiarity with new merchandise.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Must have 3-5 years of personal shopping experience in a high-end or specialty retail store

Must have an established clientele following

Must have proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

Highly organized and detail oriented

Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and is flexible to changing priorities

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and creative problem solving skills

Well organized with the ability to be flexible based on the needs of the business

Strong analytical and interpersonal skills

Proven ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
