Overview & Responsibilities
Manages third-party vendors responsible for cemetery base and sales maps to ensure expectations, standards, and deliverables are clearly understood and delivered on-time and adherence to contractual obligations. Work with Market and Location management to provide information related to cemetery mapping, surveying, third-party work, for accuracy; addresses inaccuracies.
Cemetery Mapping 40%
Using various AutoCAD and 3d software and civil engineer experience, electronically reviews all cemetery maps for accuracy and takes initiative to resolves inaccuracies. May collaborate with field locations to validate or clarify inaccuracies between existing conditions and maps. Updates SharePoint and ensures current procedures are used for file management by vendors.
Notifies and/or provides approved maps to appropriate Market and Location management. Coordinate mapping updates with locations, designers and corporate partners using SharePoint project management tools.
Support the cemetery development team by providing them with current cemetery information, mapping and inventory records. Validate acreage, developed or undeveloped land.
Work with cemetery staff members throughout the network to provide them with accurate cemetery documents that includes reviewing surveys, maps and inventory data with locations’ records.
Work directly with SCI’s corporate partners to ensure they are provided the necessary information and product for their construction projects.
Vendor Management 40%
Manages third-party property vendors against contractual obligations and company standards. Communicates projects, expectations, milestones, deadlines, and similar to vendors. Maintains status on cemetery mapping revisions made by vendors. Provides manager with feedback on vendor against expectations.
Provides input and maintains vendor standards / expectation documents for design and construction vendors.
As requested, provides information on mapping and inventory to corporate departments, such as Business Development, Construction, or Property Accounting.
Review and update standards and procedures for the cemetery development process.
Additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Civil Technology or related discipline required or four (4) years of directly related work experience or an Associate’s degree and two (2) years of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience managing large scale projects, outside vendors.
At least two (2) years with proficient Autocad experience in civil design and construction industry .
Civil 3d preferred.
3d modeling preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Autodesk products.

When considering the work environment associated with this job, the following factors may apply:
Work indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions
Limited amount of local and/or multiple location traveling required
Professional Dress is required when in contact with families.
Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per day
Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day
Climbing stairs to access buildings frequently
Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usage
Working beyond standard hours as the need arises
