FUNCTION OF THE JOB

To provide the best possible service to our customers on the selling floor resulting in repeat customers and increased sales. To achieve this goal, teamwork will be required among all employees. Certain non-selling tasks must also be completed in order to maintain exceptional customer service. Special attention must be paid to maintaining a neat, clean, attractive and safe environment both inside and outside the store. All tasks are to be performed according to the standards of performance set by the Company. Comply with any directive or request given by the Outlet Store Manager or other authorized manager or supervisor.

INTERACTION

1. Reports directly to the Outlet Store Manager. In his or her absence, the Sales Associate will report to the Assistant Manager or Supervisor.

3. Interaction with District/Group Manager and Regional Directors

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Business Planning/Operations a. Meet or exceed credit and email goals.

b. Perform all requirements and functions of the POS terminal systems in an efficient and timely manner.

c. Supports and implements changes needed to improve the company’s efficiency.

d. Upholds the values and integrity of the company.

e. Perform receiving duties and merchandising duties.

f. Clean restroom, restock paper products and pick up trash throughout and around store. Routinely clean sales floor, stockroom and breakroom.

g. Performs housekeeping duties including vacuuming, cleaning, dusting and polishing (mirrors, fixtures, cash wraps, displays, carpeting, or other surfaces).

h. Assist Management to ensure the ongoing protection of Company assets and funds from theft and errors throughout the entire store.

i. Correctly apply and follow all Company policies and procedures.

j. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

k. Communicates effectively by being clear and concise in both oral and written communication in order to ensure effective operations.

2. Merchandise Presentation a. Use product knowledge about vendors, styles, prices, and merchandise, to assist customers with purchase decisions.

b. Treats our product with care and respect by maintaining a clean, neat and organized store.

c. Use Company method of merchandising for all departments and divisions.

d. Ensures the proper handling of merchandise functions within the store including markdowns, processing, sizing and recovery.

3. Customer Focus a. Upholds a culture that builds exceptional internal and external customer experiences.

b. Maintains high customer readiness standards and delivers a neat, clean and easy to shop store environment.

c. Creates a positive fitting room environment through customer interaction and recovery.

d. Works well with others to accomplish tasks, solve problems and achieve goals.

e. Builds customer loyalty through our One Card loyalty program and One Card credit card program.

LIMITATIONS OF AUTHORITY

A Sales Associate will need approval from a Supervisor or Manager for the following:

  • Processing check and charge transactions beyond specific limits set by the Company.
  • Accepting customer returned merchandise.
  • Leaving the assigned work area; this includes leaving the floor for breaks, meals and trips to thestockroom.
  • Resolving customer complaints frequently requires the approval of a Supervisor, especially if adeviation from normal policy is required.
  • Merchandising placement/displays must be approved by the Supervisor to insure that the area ismerchandised according to Company adjacencies.
  • Making exceptions to customer service policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1.Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing, and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with orwithout reasonable accommodations.

2.Must have full hand and arm usage for operating machines such as POS terminals and ticketing machines.

3.Must be able to climb stairs to stockroom (if applicable) to replenish and maintain merchandise.

4.Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry at least 20 pounds.

5.Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e. bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching).

6.Must be able to reach a minimum of 60 inches to stock and maintain merchandise.

7.Must be able to handle cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum, broom, mop and duster) to maintain store cleanliness.

8.Must be able to climb a 6 ft. ladder for maintaining and presenting merchandise (if applicable).

9.Required to stand on feet 95% of the day.

QUALIFICATIONS

1.High School Diploma or equivalent is required; college degree preferred.

2.Knowledge of company standard software, systems and procedures.

3.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

4.Ability to work varying hours and schedules to include days, mid shifts, nights, weekends and holidays.

5.Occasionally travel to other stores as requested by management.
