Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced California Labor & Employment Litigations Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in California employment law, with specific experience in handling PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) cases and class action work. Additionally, the candidate should be able to handle cases with both wage/hour and FEHA (Fair Employment and Housing Act) components. This position is remote, with occasional in-person meetings as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Handle a caseload of employment law matters, including wage/hour, FEHA, PAGA cases, and class action work
- Conduct legal research, analysis, and case strategy development
- Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and settlement agreements
- Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on complex cases
- Stay updated on changes in employment law and legal trends
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing
- 10+ years of experience practicing employment law in California, including class action work after PAGA cases- this is a critical requirement
- Class action certified
- Proven experience handling PAGA cases from start to finish
- Strong knowledge of Lodestar calculations and fee arrangements
- Ability to handle cases with both wage/hour and FEHA components
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Spanish-speaking ability is a plus but not required (sizeable Spanish-speaking clientele)
- Flexibility to work remotely and attend in-person meetings as needed
Shift: 9am to 6pm PST Mon-Fri
