South Dakota Public Broadcasting is a statewide, joint radio and television network, that is also South Dakota's NPR and PBS affiliates. We seek an energetic, organized, and goal-focused professional journalist to host local segments of Morning Edition, Monday through Friday 6-9 AM and midday newscasts. This position is a high-profile member of the SDPB news team and will lead work on a statewide network for a discerning audience that appreciates and supports good local journalism.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
The ideal candidate will have sound news judgment and a clear, pleasant, grammatically correct conversational on-air delivery. Able to correctly stack newscasts based on news of the day. The ability to research, report and produce news features; conduct interesting and thoughtful interviews with newsmakers and participate in the station's digital strategies.

Knowledge of:
South Dakota;
South Dakota newsmakers including politicians, business leaders, and cultural leaders.

Ability to:
develop professional relationships that assist in newsgathering;
remain objective and professional at all times;
work with news interns and assign staff news assignments;
assist with editing copy for broadcast and online presentations;
stay organized and multi-task;
write and edit audio content;
use windows operating systems;
work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced news situation;
provide accurate information to our audience.
