CYBERSPACE EFFECTS OPERATIONS - 17SX :
This job requires military service with a contract as a commissioned officer in the Air Force Reserve. The application is for a specific position within the Air Force Reserve.
Position Summary
Space is critical to our operations and everyday lives, and cyberspace is where it all connects. As a Cyberspace Effects Operations Officer, you’ll command crews in various areas of cybersecurity: combat communications, missile guidance systems, the nation’s power grid, rocket launches and more. You’ll also assess intelligence and advise commanders to make sure our teams are mission-ready no matter the situation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate cyberspace weapons systems.
- Review mission tasking and intelligence information.
- Supervise mission planning, preparation, and crew briefing and debriefing.
- Command crews for cyberspace and training missions.

Qualifications
Select full-time opportunities may be available for fully qualified candidates seeking to affiliate from the active-duty Air Force. Full-time opportunities for this role vary by location. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- Knowledge of electronics theory, information technology, telecommunications, and supervisory and control systems including cryptography, vulnerability assessment, and exploitation techniques
- Completion of Undergraduate Cyberspace training and mission qualification training in specialty area
- Completion of a current Single Scoped Background Investigation (SSBI)
- Eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance
- Completion of eight-week Officer Training School (OTS) at Maxwell AFB, AL
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 42
