This position is for a Senior Virtualization Lead Architect, with experience designing and deploying Virtualization solutions in a hybrid cloud environment. This person should have advanced understanding of VMware technologies, storage and networking. This position requires solid written and oral communications skills, and the person should be capable of presenting solutions to senior-level audiences, both technical and non-technical. Hands on working experience with, and solid understanding of the following technologies: 10+ years designing and deploying VMware solutions. Extensive experience with the following technologies: Virtual Distributed Switches, vMotion, SRM, DRS, vRealize, and HA. Experience in integration with Enterprise technologies from Microsoft, RedHat, DELL/EMC, vxRail, etc. will be greatly valued. Familiarity with storage technologies, including HBAs, SAN, Fibre Channel, and NAS. Solid understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, DHCP, server virtualization, and Active Directory integration. The position must be able to design and leverage High Availability, Load Balancing, and Disaster Recovery solutions.

The architect will be expected to be the SME of the virtualized Windows and Linux environment and take on the end-to-end design & engineering of the environment including the development of documentation and automated processes and workflows. The processing includes monitoring, deployment, patching, backup and archive. The person will leverage project management experience in order to work with multiple project teams and partners to design solutions, components and interfaces to help drive to an automated virtualize environment.

This role will also be responsible for gathering and documenting requirements, setting up environments; installing & configuring products, generating architecture and engineering documentation capturing the details for DEV, TST and PROD implementations, and coordinating the implementations via the appropriate teams. Also, need to generate quality detailed documentation for all operating teams and train them so that they can take over the BAU maintenance functions of the product/solution implementations.

Extensive hands-on experience with engineering, installation, & setup of servers (VMware ESXi, RHEL, Windows) in a large environment and installation, configuration and functional testing of third party products; requires very good understanding of storage, database, and networking technologies.

The virtualization architect must have the skills and experience to fulfill the following responsibilities:

Architect and engineer solutions based on virtualization and automation suite of products and solutions: VMware vSphere 6.x, VMware vCenter Orchestrator (vCO), vROPS, RHEL 7.x, Windows Server, Configurations Management, etc
Identify areas for improving efficiency and of repeatable processes and recommend solutions for improvement
System monitoring & performance monitoring of disk space, system and application errors, memory and swap space utilization, disk performance, CPU, and processes
Backup and archiving in a virtual environment
Interface with management to report on project and program milestones
Present and/or escalate project and technical needs
Communicate progress toward daily and weekly deliverables
Mentor other analysts and engineers
Performs other duties & responsibilities as requested by management


Strong knowledge of the following:
VMWARE vSphere 6.x, vCenter
Linux RHEL 6/7
Windows Server 2008+
Virtualization environment design, development, maintenance techniques, and processes
Orchestration toolsets
Communications (Oral/Written)

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and/or its equivalent required
10+ years related experience
