Position: IT Systems Architect
Reports to: VP, Information Technology
Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $125,000 - $160,000

The Superior Group is looking for a Systems Architect who is a strategic thinker, a team leader, and a subject matter expert on network engineering. In addition to supporting key business initiatives by implementing secure and reliable infrastructure solutions, the Systems Architect will be accountable for the system health, cyber-security, and disaster-readiness of all of TSG’s infrastructure systems. This person will develop and support a team of engineers and technicians while also serving as a hands-on escalation-point for this team. This role is based at our Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
- Design infrastructure solutions (from small-scale to large-scale) for emerging business challenges and enterprise applications.
- Serve as the cyber-security subject-matter-expert for all IT infrastructure.
- Address escalated issues from the service technicians and – wherever possible – document and train them on how to handle these issues in the future.
- Maintain and evolve infrastructure standards ensuring these are documented and kept current.
- Ensure the health of the infrastructure through regular patching, leveraging industry best-practices, and monitoring.
- Demonstrated commitment to fiscal responsibility, gatekeeping our standards to eliminate unnecessary expenses and ensure a consistent return-on-investment.

Your Expertise
- You have earned your Bachelors or Associates degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
- You have at least 10 years’ experience in network and system architecture
- Bonus Points: If you have experience in the construction industry or an industry serving remote workers at distributed job sites
- You have experience with security features (e.g., SSO, PIM/PAM, VPN) and disaster-recovery (e.g., configuring and testing backup/restore capabilities)
You have experience with Administration of Active Directory, Microsoft 365 (OneDrive/Teams/Exchange), Azure (Entra ID, inTune), and Google Workspace
- You have experience in managing vmWare workloads and ensuring backup/restore capabilities
- You have experience in configuring firewalls, switches, wireless, and endpoint VPN connectivity in a multi-campus environment.
- You are familiar with Powershell scripting and Unix command-line prompts
- You have experience in advanced troubleshooting of Windows 11 and laptop hardware
- You are familiar with Apple device enrollment programs and supporting iPhones/iPads
