This is a full-time role for a Controller/Bookkeeper at ERPM. The Controller/Bookkeeper will be responsible for day-to-day financial management tasks, including bookkeeping, budgeting, financial reporting and administrative responsibilities. This role is based in midtown Manhattan office near Grand Central.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. As a Controller/Bookkeeper you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records, while also providing valuable insights to inform business decisions for our firm and for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial concepts, with expertise in areas such as budgeting, accounts payable/receivable and technical accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Yardi and experience in property management is required. Duties:
- Create Budgets and track month over month performance
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Conduct account analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- Collaborate with property managers to develop and implement financial strategies

- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Yardi to record and track financial transactions
- Provide financial reporting and forecasting to support Principals and Board members
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a corporate accounting environment
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and technical accounting principles
- Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems, specifically Yardi
- Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and errors
- Proven ability to analyze financial data and make strategic decisions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
- Strong communication, collaboration, leadership and analytical/problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a team environment and collaborating with other departments
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Knowledge of property management is a must
- Certification in accounting, such as CPA is highly desirable
Salary $75-$85k with health insurance
2-weeks (not consecutive) vacation/personal time
And 1-week sick time per year
Salary paid bi-monthly via W2
