The Terezakis Law Firm, PLLC is a well established, respected, Mineola based, immigration, crimmigration, and criminal defense law firm. We have been successfully representing Long Island’s immigrant community for more than 35 years.
We are seeking an experienced immigration-litigation paralegal with at least 5 years of experience in the fields of: deportation-removal defense; criminal defense; immigration related litigation; family-based immigration; asylum and/or appeals to the BIA or Second Circuit. The paralegal will be responsible for preparing and filing relief applications with the Immigration Courts and USCIS, and must be familiar with preparing and filing motions and briefs; applications for cancellation of removal; adjustment of status; waivers; and asylum. The candidate must be bilingual in Spanish and English, and will be working with the firm’s principal attorney.
This position is for an experienced paralegal. The person should have excellent interpersonal and administrative skills. The candidate should be friendly; able to work well with others and to establish a good rapport with our firm’s clients; have excellent organizational skills; be able to track and meet deadlines; prioritize their assignments; and work well under pressure. Most importantly, the candidate should be genuinely committed to helping our clients: people in crisis, facing deportation-removal, a criminal prosecution, or who have sought our assistance in navigating the complex immigration bureaucracy. Since the principal attorney is often in court, this paralegal must be able to do a preliminary screening of potential clients, and summarize the inquiry for the attorney.
We have a client centered, team based, approach to our representation. Our paralegals work closely with our attorneys and are a critical part of our team. We ensure our paralegals participate in legal education programs and trainings. We do not have a “high volume” practice! We seek someone who shares our commitment to providing high quality legal representation to our clients.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, or a Paralegal certificate and Associate’s Degree
- At least 5 years’ experience in in some or all of the above practice areas
- Bilingual: Spanish and English fluency is essential.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills, compassionate and supportive of clients
- Friendly, easy going, good people skills. Works well with others.
- Able to track cases, meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Salary Range: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00, Depending on Experience.
Job Types: Full-time
Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (4 p.m. during the summer); one Saturday (9am to 1pm) per month.
