Summary: The Pre-Award Administrator is responsible for the administrative duties related to proposal development and application to restricted external funding opportunities. Collaborates with the Director Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP), project staff, principal investigators, financial staff, grant writers, and other internal and external stakeholders in order to assist internal customers with proposal development. Communicates with internal customers in order to determine external funding needs, identifies appropriate opportunities to fulfill this need, and ensures the organization’s eligibility prior to Parkview’s commitment to the pursuit. Serves internal customers by creating timelines and outlines for proposal completion, defines responsibilities regarding proposal components, prepares a variety of supplementary forms required by sponsors, assists with budget development, ensures that proper approvals are obtained prior to proposal submission, and submits proposals to sponsors in accordance with sponsor guidelines and deadlines. In an effort to minimize institutional risk, the Pre-Award Administrator also proactively identifies compliance issues and assures adherence to OSP policies and procedures throughout the pre-award process.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Finance, Health Care, Writing Concentration, or other associated area.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in writing is required. Experience with Microsoft Office products is required. Experience with budgeting, grants management, and proposal development are highly preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft is highly valued. Demonstrated skill to work well with diverse group of stakeholders. Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Must have excellent understand of the grant-in-aid life cycle and associated terms and conditions associated with the application and acceptance of extramural awards. Must have exceptional verbal and written communications skills including the ability to present information effectively to teammates, stakeholders and Parkview Health leadership. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and capable of independently learning how to use other software as needed.
