POSITION PURPOSE

The Associate Communications Specialist will assist the Associate Communications Manager in executing multifaceted communication plans. They will oversee the weekly and monthly production and distribution of internal and external communications, support and promote internal campaigns, lead a weekly call with business partners (subject matter experts) and field leaders to compile and review weekly and monthly communications. The associate must be willing to travel to connect with frontline associates and suppliers, and will proactively explore opportunities to integrate digital media into the existing communications portfolio.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
25% Execute effective communication plans and writes communications in support of business objectives for assigned team.
25% Builds effective partnerships to understand the business and functional area supported. Participates in team, staff, and production meetings.
25% Provide metrics, measurement, and evaluation and reporting as needed in support of projects.
25% Works with other communications colleagues (CCEA and Store Communications organization) and creative teams to implement projects using multiple communication vehicles.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Typically reports to Associate Communications Manager or Sr. Manager
No associates report to this role, but it requires the technical leadership of a project work team: May select team members and assess capabilities; provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives; and continuously evaluate program efficacy
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 4 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:
Journalism, graphic design and/or public relations degree; exceptional communicator
Bachelor’s degree preferred; specific technical training desired
1 to 3 years of professional experience in digital media (specifically eLearning and digital content development)
Experience working in a corporate setting is preferred; comfortable presenting work to others
Experience creating digital content, editing content and video, posting and tracking analytics preferred
Demonstrated ability to assemble footage, digital titling, voiceover audio, and motion graphics into a cohesive story, based on scripts provided by, and direction from, business partners (subject matter experts)
Proven digital video and audio editing skills, using tools like the Adobe Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Has a flexible writing style to address multiple audiences, while maintaining the organization’s voice
Strong research, organizational, planning and learning skills
