We are a boutique real estate investment and management company that has been in business for 30+ years, located near Metrotech Plaza in Downtown Brooklyn, seeking a motivated individual for a Bookkeeping and Money Management position.

Primarily a residential and commercial property management company with holdings in Brooklyn, Hudson Valley and the Caribbean, the company also owns and maintains vintage racing motorcycles and Historic WWII PT boats. We hope you join us.

Job Description

You will be responsible for maintaining financial records for all companies in multiple QuickBooks files, with data entry of tenants, vendors, properties and banking transactions posted to QuickBooks.

You will process employee payroll and all accounts receivable/payable. You will be required to do financial analysis, providing data and reports for various entities as needed.

Reporting: Consolidate, analyze, create and present accurate and data based financial reports on company’s profitability, stability, solvency and liquidity in order to help company make well informed decisions. Should have good knowledge of reports readily available in QuickBooks, as well as ability to generate comprehensive financial reports with Microsoft Excel. Examples include cash flow analysis, annual financial forecast, and property analysis.

Key Responsibilities

QuickBooks:

  • Accurately record and post daily financial transactions of various entities.
  • Create reports as needed.
  • AP/AR: Enter new vendors/customers, bills, credit card transactions, prepare checks, prepare monthly rent invoices for tenants, and monitor/collect payments.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts, credit cards, and mortgages
  • Enter journal entries, monitoring the balance sheet, working with inter-companies.
  • Payroll/Processing time sheets
  • Create a check run every two weeks.

Duties assisting outside CPA:

  • Assist CPA in providing important and confidential financial information
  • Provide quarterly payroll reports and tax payments
  • Submit necessary information to file taxes

R*equirements*

  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
  • Experience using QuickBooks and MS Excel. Should be experienced in working with journal entries, managing chart of accounts, and using classes. Ability to multi-task and close attention to detail is essential.
  • Mathematical, written, and verbal skills with great attention to detail
  • Organizational skills are a must, along with ability to prioritize tasks

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Real Estate experience is a plus but not required
