This is a Procurement role providing direction for and execution of Value Engineering Productivity projects across our North American businesses. The candidate will be identifying, scoping and/or driving Reform/Value Engineering/Continuous Improvement projects to meet business goals. Candidate will be required to develop strong cadence and routines with the Ingredients and Packaging Procurement Teams to find cost reduction synergies for our External Manufacturers, while ensuring financial accuracy of the identified opportunities. Candidate should have a proven record of developing as well as executing work plans and driving for results in a variety of settings. This includes understanding the business need, defining scope, designing and executing a work plan, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, communicating results, managing competing cross functional priorities, and executing projects. Proven communication, organizational agility, and teamwork skills are essential in this role, which operates in a cross-functional environment. Preferably, candidate should have a strong technical/Operations/Procurement background, someone who is able to apply prior learnings or scientific principles for fast adaptation and/or someone who can challenge the status quo for productivity improvements. This position requires an individual to manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently and demonstrate a high degree of autonomy. Exhibiting a collaborative and “thinking outside of the box” mindset while applying innovative solutions are a must. While this role has no direct reports, the Senior Buyer will be indirectly managing and working with Procurement teams, R&D, Marketing/Brand Teams, Business Stakeholders, Suppliers, External Manufacturers, and related Ops personnel, to effectively drive the Productivity Agenda.
Work with Suppliers and R&D teams by leveraging experience and available data sources to lead in the identification, scoping, development and execution of Productivity opportunities across Formula, Process, Package and/or Distribution (End to End Supply Chain).
Facilitate effective Project Management for the acceleration of savings
Lead various “Cost Out” ideation sessions with Suppliers, R&D, Buyers, and other BU Stakeholders.
Challenge the status quo and define a path to succeed.
Manage multiple assignments/research projects concurrently and possess the ability to prioritize between a variety of business initiatives.
Manages Value Engineering financial reporting for select Procurement entities.
Minimum Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Direct Procurement (i.e. Ingredients, Packaging, External Manufacturing), Operations, Engineering, Food Science, Product R&D, or Packaging R&D.
Prior Continuous Improvement experience within Operational environments desired
Strong Project Management & Excellent Organizational skills

Can be forceful and direct as well as diplomatic
