Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
Wells Fargo Compliance is the company’s compliance independent risk management function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all front-line business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.
The Payments, Virtual Solutions, and Innovation (PVSI) team includes Operations, Consumer Credit Card, Retail Services, Consumer Deposits, the Innovation Group, Treasury Management, Merchant Services and Wells Fargo Virtual Channels and the professional services teams that partner with these businesses. PVSI's focus is on delivering the next generation of payments and deposit capabilities and advancing our digital and online offerings to design new customer experiences and products. Our guiding principles are to start with the customer, move faster, and partner effectively.
The PVSI Compliance Program Governance team executes the Group-level compliance program. In this role, the Compliance Analytics Consultant will provide strategic analytic support to PVSI Compliance. This position works directly with the vertical line of business Compliance teams, line of business Control Executive teams, as well as Compliance peer groups supporting analytic needs across enterprise.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize internal & external data, structured & unstructured data to provide insights, develop analytical strategies, and provide analytical support to a wide array of initiatives within PVSI Compliance
Understand existing Compliance landscape and identify opportunities where analytics can enhance the decision making process
Engage with business and compliance partners to design and implement innovative analytic solutions
Continuously expand the analytics framework by exploring and evaluating new data sources to enhance analytic capabilities and enable proactive risk management
Partner with line of business and Compliance partners to drive adoption of data driven methodologies while adhering to Compliance policy and standards
Conduct analysis and research of Compliance data to identify new risks, quantify known risk, automate manual processes and optimize management of the risk environment.
5+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both; or a BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 3+ years of reporting experience, analytics experience, or a combination of both
Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
1+ year of compliance experience
Ability to present complex concepts to senior management
Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
Experience with text mining or text analytics
Knowledge and understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) disciplines such as Machine Learning or Natural Language Processing
Ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems
Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
Ability to create and improve process through strategic thinking
1+ year of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) experience
1+ year of MicroStrategy experience
3+ years of SAS experience
1+ year of Python experience
