Position Summary:
Responsible for planning and directing the administrative, operations, finance, and business development of all Pathology and Laboratory Medicine operations at all Akron Children’s Hospital operational sites to ensure the delivery of high quality and fiscally responsible care to patients requiring diagnostic laboratory testing. Provide inspirational leadership and vision for the department. Plan, develop, implement and monitor department and hospital policies, performance standards, goals and objectives. Manage and evaluate in a manner that meets continuous quality improvement, customer service, programmatic growth, Federal and State regulations, and Laboratory Accreditation Programs.

Qualifications:
Master's degree with certification at the Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist level with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) with a minimum of three (3) years laboratory supervision experience; Masters Degree required. Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills needed for interaction with all members of the healthcare team. Ability to provide: inspirational leadership and vision, conduct meetings, problem solving sessions, interviews; prepare management reports, and review documents; accomplish computer tasks. Ability to create, review, and summarize management documents.
