Operations Manager – Branch Boston, MA

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the District Manager/Boston, the Operations Manager will oversee and assist in managing all aspects of the company’s operations for all accounts out of the Boston/Cambridge Office. Will work closely with the District & Operations Manager on the management and oversight of all the client accounts, site and USI employees in the Region.

Position requires 3-5 years of progressively responsible management experience in the security industry. Experience with industry site operations, training, recruiting and auditing in the contract industry preferred. Prior military and/or police experience a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Position includes, 7-days-per-week on-call and response capabilities. Acts as aback up to the Field Operations Manager.

May be assigned to evenings, nights and weekends as needed.

  • Handle management and administration of payroll & billing systems. Work with site supervisors and managers for accurate and precise payroll/billing maintenance.
  • Primary responsibility for reviewing scheduling, payroll & staffing of all locations. Handle management and administration of payroll & billing systems. Work with site supervisors and managers for accurate and precise payroll/billing maintenance.
  • Conduct interviewing & hiring to standards. Knowledge of legal aspects of HR required. Manage open positions, cross-training and overtime. Assist with the maintenance of a floater pool and assist with mentoring managers and supervisors. Conduct interviewing & hiring to standards.
  • Assist in Preparation & editing SOP Manuals, Read Files, and site documentation. Keep all files current.
  • Provide emergency response and operational support, as required.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports on all aspects of the District Operations: track employee evaluations, inspections & audits, serious incident reporting & investigations, financial reporting, trending, action plans.
  • Coordinate/ track all District uniform supplies and needs. Assist in maintenance and ordering for uniform programs. Manage uniforms, equipment, supplies including cellphones, tour systems purchasing and monitoring utilization as well as vehicles utilized at the accounts, maintaining appropriate inventories and maintenance checklists
  • Process various reports to monitor operational progress, spot any potential problems or trends to assist the management team with improving operations and/or customer partnerships.
  • Support/ Assist Recruiting Coordinator in all aspects of interview, training, outfitting and on-boarding process for the District.
  • Assist with Field Operations as needed with regards to client relations, special assignments.
  • Assist in Coordination of District Floater/Event staff pools and schedules.
  • Assist with onsite new Client startups, as needed
  • Mentor and support managers and supervisors. Work with the Director of Human Resources as needed on all employee relations situations and concerns
  • Assist with training of new officer’s supervisors and managers with regards to District operations. SOBC, CPR, AED, FA Wintean, Tour systems, etc.as needed.
  • Coordinate and oversee the 40-80-day review schedule and ensure timely completion.
  • Provide emergency response and operational support, as required.
  • Perform all other functions and duties as required or assigned by USI and/or the Client.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position requires excellent verbal & written communication skills. Must have the ability to develop and write business plans, memos, spreadsheets, graphs & charts for business purposes.
  • Excellent computer skills with high level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and computerized payroll & billing programs. WinTeam knowledge a plus, Payroll administration a must.
