ABB, Inc has a great opportunity for a GBS HR Front Office Lead. GBS HR Front Office Lead responsibilities include reviewing and managing budgets, implementing new company policies and maintaining internal HR systems. In addition, to ensure HR initiatives are cost-effective, run smoothly and contribute to a healthy work environment. This role will also oversee everyday operations including Employee Life Cycle Management (HR Master data, Onboarding Program), Compensation and Benefits Administration and Payroll/Time administration. The role assists the Country HR Leader with on-going duties, special projects and overall department management; while maintaining confidentiality.
Tasks
Main Accountabilities
  • Provide strategic direction for all US HR operations
  • Promote and contribute to healthy work environment
  • Champion ABB core values and LEAN initiatives
  • Consult with line management and provide daily guidance/leadership
  • Set objectives for the GBS HR Service Delivery team and track progress
  • Manage and modify budget based HR budgetary guidelines and annual goals
  • Implement and execute newly designed company policies
  • Monitor key service delivery metrics
  • Act as a consultant to business leaders, managers and staff regarding policies and procedures
  • Address employees’ queries (e.g., on compensation, payroll)
  • Partner with other regional GBS HUBs ensuring end to end, cohesive process delivery.
  • Assist Managers and develop them so they are equipped with the skills required for successful management, encompassing supervisory techniques, organizational strategies and employee communications
  • Ensure all controls are followed and performed timely and accurately.
  • Assists Senior Leaders within HR and Global Business Service on day-to-day projects, ad hoc requests as assigned
  • Safety - Lead, drive and hold itself accountable for the highest standards of health, safety and environment to ensure Zero Harm is achieved. Responsible for compliance with relevant HSE policy and procedures, ensuring proactive risk assessments take place and corrective actions monitored/followed up. Build an injury, incident, near miss and hazard reporting culture within your team, guaranteeing reported incidents will be investigated and action taken. SARBANES-OXLEY AND INTERNAL CONTROL
This position oversees and occasionally performs all duties in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and documents all evidence required to confirm that all payroll controls are functioning as designed. Participates in the Human Resources annual SOX testing and validation exercises and assists with quarterly and annual audit engagements with ABB’s Internal & External

Requirements
Skills Required

  • Must adhere to very high standards of accuracy, completeness, timeliness and attention to detail in all assigned duties and responsibilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are necessary
  • Must be proficient with HRIS databases; including data entry and data retrieval capabilities
  • Microsoft Office preferred - Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and diverse individuals
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and well with others; as part of a team
  • Must be able to positively and effectively deal with competing priorities while maintaining employee confidentiality
  • Proven, effective and solid work experience as an HR Operations Manager, HR Manager or similar role
  • Ability to develop efficient processes based on company policies
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
  • Solid skills with effectively managing and supervising teams
  • Full understanding of all HR functions and best practices
  • Bachelor’s Degree (in HR, Business Administration, Finance, Legal or similar)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in a Human Resources or Global Business Service HR Generalist experience is a plus.
  • Must have experience with HRIS systems (cloud based solutions a plus).
  • Experience in a shared services environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of HR practices, laws, policies and procedures. SCP, CP, SPHR or PHR a plus
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (in HR, Business Administration or similar)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in a Human Resources or Global Business Service, HR Generalist experience is a plus.
