The paralegal/legal assistant will function as a generalist and provide legal support across various practice areas such as commercial contracts, litigation management, compliance, business transactions, governance, etc. Candidate must have a strong background in the areas listed below and a willingness to learn from others. The position will report to the company’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
Maintain corporate statutory filings including business licenses
Maintain corporate records
Perform legal and factual research
Perform records search
Organize and analyze information
Cross-check and validate information
Prepare written reports
Draft legal documents, including briefs, contracts and legal memos
Check and edit forms for accuracy
Build and maintain databases and files
Maintain legal records
Coordinate activities including subpoena requests
Assist to maintain insurance policies, applications and insurance claims
Bachelor’s Degree, associates degree or certificate program in paralegal studies
Paralegal certification may be required
Thorough knowledge of maintaining statutory filings and business licenses
Thorough knowledge of legal principles and practices
Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques
Thorough knowledge of legal terminology
Thorough knowledge of legal communication principles and practices
Relevant computer knowledge and experience
