We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and maintenance of all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems. This role is crucial in providing a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment for our guests and staff.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as needed.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules that minimize disruption to hotel operations and guest experiences.
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance programs to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, maintaining a safe working environment for all staff and guests.
- Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Support special projects and renovations as required, providing technical expertise and guidance.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training in maintenance engineering preferred.
- Proven experience in a maintenance role, ideally within the hospitality industry or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and general building maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and staff.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
