Based in the heartland of iron and steel resource production, the ICR Bessemer location resides within a constantly expanding industrial park area on the outskirts of the city. This branch is a full-service branch that provides the following offerings: vulcanizing, pulley lagging, bearing replacement, belt slitting, mechanical splice installation, belt refurbishment, belt cleaner parts/service, product storage and more. Bessemer personnel are equipped and available 24/7 to respond to the customers’ requests for service.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and maintaining strategic relationships with key contacts throughout their territory. Through both established and newly forged relationships you will have the responsibility of identifying a variety of projects in various stages of development throughout the region that may warrant involvement of ICR’s services and product offerings. The right individual will cultivate existing relationships, while also possessing the ability to develop leads through various avenues such as: video conferences, cold calls, office visits, networking events, and more.
Expectations are that the Business Development Manager may coordinate the involvement of Company personnel, including support, service, and management of resources to meet growth objectives, promote ICR in the market, actively participate in local professional organizations, has experience estimating and proposal writing all while maintaining accurate tracking of leads and opportunities utilizing the approved method whether it be Word, Excel, or a CRM.
The Business Development Manager is a front-line, customer facing employee pivotal to the long-term success of ICR. Work is expected to be in a variety of environments from indoor to outdoor, above and below ground, and all types of weather conditions.
COMPENSATION:
$90,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Frontline customer service within assigned territory for existing and potential customers through answering questions, responding to requests, completing requested tasks, and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- Report on regional sales results weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Commute to and from customer work sites.
- Coordinate with other employees to ensure that materials and service delivery are being handled correctly and efficiently.
- Work closely with salespeople and other internal teams to meet individual and group sales quotas, share best practices, identify local business opportunities and challenges, and support a cohesive sales approach.
- Interface with internal and external customers daily via video conferencing, in person, on job sites, through cold calling, e-mailing, or canvassing.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 5+ years of experience in sales required, preferably in conveyor, coal, aggregate or similar industry.
- Established contacts within the industry and particularly within the US Southeastern Region: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and more as required.
- MSHA Red Hat / Black Hat surface and underground preferred, but not required.
JOB SKILLS:
- Basic hand tool familiarity is required, including knowledge, use, and understanding of a tape measure and units of measurement.
- Basic math experience required – i.e. making calculations of amounts, sizes, or measurements and utilizing concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Must be self-motivated, focused, and goal oriented to achieve sales objectives for a company growing nationwide.
- Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal) in person, over the phone, and through e-mail or written letters with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to track and report utilizing Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs or CRM.
- Open availability to address the needs of the customer.
- Ability to make cold calls or visits with new potential customers.
- Safety conscious and responsible, always wearing all required site-regulated PPE (company provided).
- Ability to visually inspect machinery and equipment to ensure safe operations and quality control.
JOB DETAILS:
This role is a regular employee, full-time salary position that is schedule driven by the demands of the customers and business.
Shifts are wide ranging and will be flexible depending upon the needs of the customer. Work will be completed in the field as well as in the office and shop.
Employees will work some weekends as needed.
Overtime work may be required based on the needs of the business.
Travel for this position is regularly required, with some overnight stays. Travel will encompass the entire Southeastern Region – i.e. Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and more as required.
All necessary business-related expenses are covered by ICR.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work is completed in numerous industry specific environments including, but not limited to: a factory floor/warehouse/shop/outdoor/underground/elevated environment with exposure to loud levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated, and fast paced environment. Continuously required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, bend, stand, and reach with hands or arms. Continuously required to hear and/or respond to verbal/audio cues, see and/or respond to visual cues, perform repetitive motions of entire body, and adjust product with hands, mechanical equipment, and/or hand tools. The employee may frequently lift and/or move 40 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moderate levels of cold and/or heat. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. This position will require an extensive amount of on the road travel and frequent visits to customer sites that are new and potentially unfamiliar to the employee.
