Associate VP of Cardiovascular Services
Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, nursing, or related field required - MBA/MHA preferred. Seven (7) years experience in a senior level management role with specific experience in ancillary and/or clinical services.
The Associate VP of Cardiovascular Services is part of the Health System Planning Team charged to evaluate market opportunities and develop strategies for growing targeted and prioritized Cardiovascular Services (including Heart/Lung and Vascular Services) in coordination with the overall Clinical Health System vision and goals.
The AVP partners with and supports the Vice President, University Hospitals, Vice President Health System Planning, and Vice President, Medical Affairs to:
Develop measurable and actionable plans.
Execute the go to market strategies to meet the Health System goals.
Establish operational procedures that increase productivity, reduce costs & maintain the highest quality of clinical standards.
Additionally, this role will work with Clinical Marketing and Physician Outreach to develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns.
Identify market and customer requirements for the Service Line.
Develop Service Line specific strategic and marketing development plans.
Develop actionable tactical work plans to grow selected Health System clinical service lines.
Develop quantifiable metrics for measuring progress/success.
Set the direction for the service lines with defined measurements and provides frameworks for staff to meet goals.
Review, modify and update plans as necessary on a quarterly basis.
Develop Clinical Service Line growth plans to the level of execution.
Organize service line in a cost efficient and effective manner to achieve performance excellence.
Set performance standards for staff and develop working environment and avenues for education and training to meet those standards.
Implement communication mechanisms which ensure employees understand messages set and feel they are listened to and understood.
Ensure compliance in all regulatory and compliance issues.
Assist in cost consolidation, product standardization and supply chain initiatives.
Operational and Quality Improvement
Develop and oversee coordinated operational programs and processes for each service line which result in high quality and service patient care.
Identify customer needs, develop and implement services and processes to meet those needs.
Work collaboratively with the University Hospital Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Medical Officer to ensure consistent quality of clinical care throughout the system.
Achieve continuous systematic, financial, patient focused, measurable improvement in the service line and organization.
Maintain primary responsibility along with the Medical Director for the service line and organization.
Administer, direct and coordinate the activities of the service line.
Develop internal policies and procedures.
Approve methods and procedures recommended by subordinate supervisors in consultation with the physician directors.
