Essential Qualifications
BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus
8-10 years experience in connected hardware and software development; building systems supporting connected consumer hardware products
Experience in management or leadership role is a big plus!
Exposure to any of the following functionalities a big plus!
Proficiency with server-side languages such as Kotlin, Java, TypeScript or Go. Language agnosticism is a bonus. Proficiency in at least one statically typed language a must.
Proficiency with SQL database technologies such as Postgres, MySQL, or Oracle.
Proficiency with virtualization tools such as Docker
Expertise in continuous integration solutions and tools such as TravisCI
Familiarity with embedded Linux development and OTA deployment systems.
Familiarity with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Familiarity with client side frameworks such as React
In-depth knowledge of web systems architecture, design and development
Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking abilities with a problem-solving aptitude
Strong department leader with skills in strategic planning, goal setting, processes development, budgeting, and creating opportunities for professional development within technology teams.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with medical or wellness device products
Experience with LED lighting systems, and audio-visual sensory products and DSP
Devops experience managing, maintaining and triaging cloud deployed systems
Devops experience managing, maintaining and triaging OTA deployment systems for embedded applications

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Engineering will manage the Engineering department of Ancient Ritual, focusing on 3 main priorities:
Priority 1: Responsible for the technology infrastructure of the company. Work directly under the CEO and will act as both a technology and business expert, making decisions that will impact the current and future operations of the company
Priority 2: Oversee and participate in key engineering projects from start to finish, evaluating the needs of users and internal business goals, development of engineering roadmaps and plans, analysis of any technical issues to program highly functional systems and the execution of these projects
Priority 3: Hands-on software development; working with and managing a small engineering team to deliver on the engineering roadmaps, collaborating closely with a hardware development team
