What we need you to do

You would be on the Network and VoIP support team, doing installations and providing the first line of assistance to our valued customers who may need help using our services.Interaction with the customer would be done through site visits, on-line ticket requests, emails and telephone calls.You would be empowered to resolve most every issue, but a team of senior engineers will have your back if the issue is more technical in nature.You would track issues through to resolution and follow up with the customer, letting them know things have been taken care of promptly.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

To be successful in this position candidates must enjoy problem solving with customers, have professional telephone acumen and solid writing skills.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of VOIP
  • Experience with provisioning and connecting VOIP phones
  • A track record of good customer service
  • Familiarity with setting up auto attendants / hunt groups / call forwarding
  • Familiarity with basic phone wiring and familiar with phone telco rooms (IDF) and MPOE’s

Nice to have:

  • Experience with provisioning and connecting network routers and switches
  • Ability to troubleshoot jitter and dropped call issues
  • Ability to tone and test RJ11 / RJ45 cable
  • Able to read small floor plans with no issues.

Job Duties:

  • Set up, program and pre-test all new systems for on-site installation
  • Perform system upgrades as required
  • Respond to all service and MAC (move/add/change) requests per defined service level agreements
  • Perform preventive maintenance routines as per scheduled requirements
  • Effectively communicate status of projects and orders with customers, team members and management.
  • Manage customer expectation / escalations effectively to resolution.
  • Previous experience with IT deployment projects.
  • Previous experience in installation/deployment or familiarity with VoIP/POTS phone systems.
  • Previous experience in site survey for IT projects will be a plus.
  • Previous experience or good understanding of network cabling such as cross connect, patch panels
  • Responsible for troubleshooting consumer VoIP/Telephony products for VOIP communications.
  • Manage customer expectation / escalations effectively to resolution.
  • Excellent understanding of the technical fundamentals of the Networking.
  • Assist with all phases of new telephony system integration and upgrades, to include design, engineering, installation, and configuration.
  • Participate in special projects as required.

Candidate must have solid experience with Microsoft Office tools and/or other online ticketing systems.
