The Firm is currently recruiting for a Legal Support Administrator for our Kansas City Office, located near the Country Club Plaza. This position reports to the local Office Administrator.
Coordinates daily operations of legal support department (secretarial legal support teams, facilities and paralegal overflow).
Maintains staff work schedules and prioritizes workload and work flow requests for secretarial and administrative assistants.
Handles paralegal work overflow.
Organizes coverage for scheduled and unscheduled absences.
Approves requests for overtime maintaining operation within budget.
Assists in review of secretarial assignments, workload and teams to ensure appropriate staffing ratios.
Assists the Office Administrator with the performance evaluation process and assists with the creation of development plans.
Counsels and coaches staff with conflicts. Escalates to Office Administrator when necessary.
Maintains attendance records within Firm's policies.
Assists in the recruitment process and integration of new staff.
Updates procedures manual as required and leads training for new procedures.
Responsible for processing invoices and other accounts payable duties.
Develops professional relationships with staff and timekeepers.
Assists with logistics and supervision of CLE and in-house events.
These duties may be ongoing or adhoc in nature.
Other duties may also be assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
Experience & Qualifications
2 to 3 years proven experience supervising others, showing emerging leadership skills, mentoring and performance management skills.
Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Results oriented and self-motivated.
Legal experience a plus.
