Purchasing Manager

This Purchasing Manager role is responsible for procuring drug and medical supplies and managing inventory to levels to align with contractual requirements, customer demand, and DOH targets for CuraScript SD. Lead a team of buyers and coordinators and develops and maintains purchasing policies and procedures. Leverage reporting and other tools to ensure established metrics are being met. Work successfully with internal and external suppliers and business partners to support core business functions. Other projects are assigned.


Use reports and tools to review and optimize inventory levels and replenishment attributes. Analyze, monitor and identify trends in product availability, inventory and pricing.
Lead purchasing team in meeting day to day sourcing, replenishment, accuracy and planning functions.
Monitor and mentor team using the Expressway values. Communicate Express Script’s individual job performance expectations and goals
Participate in projects in various capacities such as subject matter expert, business lead, testing, validation and implementation.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.
Create, maintain, and periodically review purchasing policies and procedures, work instructions, and process flows.
Special projects and other duties/responsibilities as assigned

BA/BS degree or 5-10 years equivalent working experience; MBA preferred
2-5 years of relevant MRP planning experience; strong technical knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
APICS/IBF certification preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced EXCEL skills for database formulas, sorting, pivot tables, charts; working experience with ERP/MRP systems, reporting tools, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, etc
Ability to interface with internal customers in a profession and ethical manner
Alteryx, SQL Query, SAP BI, and Tableau proficiency preferred
Good written and verbal communications; Time management skills
Ability to influence leaders, peers, subordinates; Good financial & business acumen; Strong presentation skills
Ability to travel 20%
