Reports to Assistant Controller. Performs varied and increasingly responsible clerical work involved in keeping and reviewing financial records and processing documents involving financial transactions.


  • Performs complex clerical and entry-level accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, making deposits and filing
  • Compiles and reviews source documents, such as timesheets, expenses, benefit forms, invoices, purchase orders, and cash receipts, for completeness and accuracy, and prepares reports
  • Compiles and prepares payroll and benefits such as pension, insurance, reimbursable expense, unemployment compensation and all other payroll deductions
  • Audits employee expenses, BOF reimbursements to ensure compliance with corporate policy before paying
  • Completes fixed asset audit, payroll quarterly and year-end taxes and reporting
  • Audits documents for proper revenue and expenditure classifications
  • Codes data according to prescribed accounting procedures
  • Compiles and prepares financial reports as needed
  • Assist with monthly close process
  • Works on special projects, if requested
  • Explains financial and accounting procedures to other accounting assistants and interns as needed
  • Posts and maintains journals, subsidiary and control ledgers
  • Maintains knowledge of current methods of keeping fiscal accounts and records
  • Performs accounting responsibilities for external clients and travels to clients when needed
  • Attends monthly staff meetings

  • Possess Act 33 and 34 Clearances
  • Have a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle license, access to a personal vehicle, and have maximum auto insurance on an employee driven vehicle
  • Proficient with Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office products; experience with QuickBooks preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Full time position requiring 38.75 hours per week


Minimum requirement of a HS diploma AND at least 2 years of experience, or an AA degree.
