Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking two Assistant Forensic Directors. One for West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus and one for Georgia and Georgia Regional Hospital – Savannah.
Assist in the administrative oversight of inpatient forensic psychiatric units
Supervise assigned inpatient clinical staff
Assist the Forensic Director in diplomatically interfacing with the judicial system in the areas we serve through written and verbal communication
Serves as immediate back up to the Forensic Director
May also be required to complete forensic psychological evaluations and perform the work of a unit psychologist as needed.
Vacation - 15 days each year up to 5 years of service; 18 days each year from 5-10 years of service; 21 days each year for 10 + years of service
Sick Leave – accrual at a rate of 10 hours per month (15 days each year)

Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice psychology AND One year of experience at the lower level Psychologist 1 (HCP140) or equivalent. Note: License may be temporary, provisional, or permanent.
Preferred Qualifications - External:
Preference will be given to those who, in addition to meeting the above qualifications, also possess the following:
- Georgia license to practice psychology with substantial prior experience in forensics and supervision
