ENCOM, a leading electrical installation company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Technician to join our team. We prioritize candidates with EMT and Rigid Conduit experience.
Position Summary: As a Lead Technician, you will work as a key member of our project team, responsible for enhancing overall jobsite productivity and ensuring high-quality work. You will assist with multiple aspects of the cable installation process, including pathway construction, rough-in, routing, Telecommunication Room build-out, cable terminations, labeling, and grounding. You may be assigned to lead a team of 3-5 members, focusing on completing tasks safely, efficiently, and with a high degree of quality while maintaining professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety by following safe work practices and adhering to company and client worksite policies
- Promote ENCOM's Core Values to foster and safeguard our family-centric culture
- Install structured cabling systems, including all aspects of the installation process:
- Read and interpret floorplans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets
- Set up and operate a variety of copper and fiber testers
- Perform system testing and troubleshooting as required
- Terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot optical fiber and copper installations
- Lead and train teams of 3-5 Technicians and Installers to complete project tasks efficiently
- Develop Technicians to take on the responsibilities of a Lead Technician
- Oversee jobsite organization and basic housekeeping maintenance
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Comply with customer security requirements
- Demonstrate expertise in technical tasks such as testing and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- OSHA 10 certification
- BICSI Installer Level 1 or Level 2 certification
- Fiber Optic Association CPCT and CFOT certifications (preferred)
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in structured cabling (data center experience a plus)
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Ability to distinguish color codes

Physical Requirements:
