The FOX Network Center is searching for a Systems Engineer to join their team in The Woodlands, TX. Would you like to utilize your experience in IT in the broadcast and media industry?
This position is responsible for the implementation, repair and front-line support of all existing and new on-air, media and data networking systems used by the FOX Network Center. The position will also support the Broadcast Data Network (BDN) for all FOX Regional Sports Networks including the video and data requirements for disaster recovery and provide end user support for these systems. The incumbent will function as an interface/liaison between IT, the BDN team, Operations, internal application developers, Engineering and vendors.
Front line support for all broadcast, media networking systems and security interfaces within the facility
Working directly with the Broadcast Data Network team as needed for support and project implementation within the facility
Implements project installations for new networking systems associated with broadcast, media, internet, and the Broadcast Data Network
Maintains all servers within the facility while enforcing compliance with 21CF security policies
Builds and configures new servers and networking infrastructure as necessary
Maintains change control system for all systems on the network to track software revisions and configuration changes
Collaborates with the Broadcast Data Network team to support the networking efforts required for joint efforts between FOX facilities
Supports and maintains virtual servers and workstations in VMware vSphere 6.0 and 6.5 environment using vSAN and NSX.
Supports and maintains broadcast and media systems that process and transport video, audio and metadata via SMPTE 2022 and SMPTE 2110
Supports and maintains Broadcast Automation Systems and Media Asset Management (MAM) systems.
Minimum of AA/AS or Vocational Certification in Information Technology systems, or have 3+ years of equivalent work experience required - Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Experience with high performance storage and file systems such as StorNext, NetApp, Isilon, and other media archive tiered NAS storage solutions are desirable
Proficiency preferred and/or desire and ability to learn media systems and the broadcast systems used for live sports – Examples: Media Asset Management systems, transcoders, media metadata, broadcast automation systems, broadcast video ingest and playout servers, digital video infrastructure
Understanding and ability to support Blade and Server hardware from IBM, HP and Cisco (UCS) is desirable
Experience with Microsoft SQL, VMware, and firewall/network security experience is desired
Proven ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot elaborate and complex IT systems and provide solutions to complex problems is essential
Capability of working with an automated trouble ticket system is desirable
Familiarity with or ability to learn Microsoft Visio and Lucidchart required - ability to use AutoCad desired
Organizational and time management skills coupled with the demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks are necessary
Must have a strong client focused approach with excellent communication (verbal & written) skills, be attentive to details with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Management, internal and external coworkers, clients, and customers
CCNA, CCNP and/or or other network certification, or working toward certification(s) to be completed within first 6 months of service
MCSA, MCSE, Linux+, RHCE, VMWare and/or Amazon certifications highly desirable
