This position is responsible for supervising the proper receiving, storing, shipping and dispatching of all incoming freight and data entry transaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Directly supervise Dock Coordinators, Office Coordinator and Dispatchers during the shift.
Supervise dispatching of all service requirements from local pickups through deliveries to meet customer/supplier window times.
Supervise dispatching of all service requirements for line haul movements to meet service center window times.
Maintains the data integrity of the TMS by supervising daily updates.
Ensure communication between the dock, operations and dispatch flows continuously.
Ensure the transportation department communicates timely by receiving phones calls within three rings and all emails are answered within one hour.
Supervise receiving, shipping and processing of all freight. Examines freight for damage and recoup. Supervises dock checks, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and assures freight is in the proper locations.
Provide advice on manpower and driver requirements and scheduling.
Plans daily activity to include volume of work, productivity and carrier equipment needs
Documents and reports damage for freight, equipment and property to the department and facility manager.
Assists in the implementation of new accounts which may include direct communication with customers.
Maintains safety and quality standards set by the company. This may include reports, logs and taking pictures as documentation.
Participates in Process Grids, documenting changes and reporting timely.
Continuously seeking process improvements and documenting through the use of MS Office using Visio, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Is the direct trainer for all new and current personnel within their assigned shift. Must document all training and provide documentation to the department manager timely.
Enforces all Employee Handbook, ISO work instructions, safety and security procedures.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, assists the Department Manager in addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university preferred and two years of related experience or five years industry related experience with two of those years in a supervisory position.
