Location: Dallas, TX Reporting Line: RX Platfo
This role is an early career individual contributor role within the Transitions Rx Technology Team based in Dallas, TX. The team’s focus is to support the revenue growth of Transitions through the development and deployment of photochromic production platforms and processes meant to be executed within Rx labs. The primary job function of this role is to support and contribute towards the execution of projects and development efforts. The scope of this role includes working as part of the team to advance equipment and process design, testing, analysis, and documentation as required. It is expected that the incumbent collaborates and communicates well within the multi-disciplinary team and takes a hands-on approach to the role. Other responsibilities include helping maintain and improve test equipment, maintaining a safe work environment, troubleshooting, and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
Performs routine analysis, engineering studies, or experimental work with some supervision or guidance
Creates and interprets test reports
Actively participates in projects
Reviews and updates project schedules and status reports
Performs and documents proof of principle or feasibility studies
Completes tasks in a timely manner
Communicates effectively within the team environment
Liaises with peers at other Transitions facilities to acquire technical know-how
Liaises with suppliers and other outside sources to acquire technical know-how and applicable new technology
Commissions new equipment in accordance with Essilor Machine Safety policy and ensures it functions as intended
Anticipates and solves problems
Investigates new and existing technology in various manufacturing industries for potential adoption
Learns continuously - seeks opportunities to grow technical and product knowledge
Performs tasks safely and in compliance with Safety Absolutes
Key Requirements (Education and Experience)
The candidate must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
1 - 5 years related experience in team based project or process engineering
Good communication skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of people
Eager to learn using a hands on approach
A demonstrated ability and interest in troubleshooting, solving problems, and continuous improvement
Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Design of Experiments (DOE)
The candidate must be well versed in the use of spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software.
Technical writing skills
Coatings process knowledge is strongly desired
Experience with database manipulation software is desired
Ability and willingness to travel internationally (up to 15%)
