Rotz & Stonesifer, P.C. is seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Staff Accountant to join our York, Pennsylvania office. As a member of the Rotz & Stonesifer, P.C. team, you will work directly with entrepreneurs and managers of small to medium sized businesses. You will be providing sound business advice that enable these individuals to focus their efforts on the growth and success of their enterprise.

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting
  • CPA or currently working toward obtaining a CPA license
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Detail Oriented
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and time management skills necessary to establish workload priorities
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in GAAP and OCBOA accounting
  • Experience preparing personal and entity income tax returns (federal, state and local)
  • Proficient in both general & accounting related computer software with preferred experience in UltraTax CS, Workpapers CS, Quickbooks and Microsoft Office

  • Record transactions in ledgers, prepare trail balances and financial statements
  • Reconcile subsidiary accounting ledgers
  • Calculation of accruals
  • Calculation of depreciation expense
  • Perform compilation or review procedures
  • Prepare personal and entity income tax returns
  • Prepare multi-state tax returns
  • Prepare prepaid expense calculations
  • Assist in reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and other documents
  • Perform other accounting and tax duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel
  • Prepare and index work papers; perform various procedures to verify client information
  • Develop client tax planning ideas and perform tax research
  • Classify accounts for financial statement presentation and income tax preparation
  • Prepare financial statement disclosures
