Job Description:
Secure Mission Solutions is currently seeking candidates for consideration against this position. This position is contingent upon contract award and availability.

Security Engineer applies an enterprise-wide set of disciplines for the planning, analysis, design and construction of information systems on an enterprise-wide basis or across a major sector of the enterprise under direction of technical management. Security Engineer develops analytical and computational techniques and methodology for problem solutions. Security Engineer performs process and data modeling in support of the planning and analysis efforts using both manual and automated tools. Security Engineer applies reverse engineering and re-engineering disciplines to develop migration strategy and planning documents. Security Engineer develops integrated system test requirement, strategies, plans, and procedures. Security Engineer participates in overall system level testing. Engage with other engineering and operations teams spanning the entire technology stack including endpoints, networks, databases, and applications to engineer and deploy cutting-edge defensive solutions to modern cyber threats. Deploy host-level protection and detection mechanisms across complex, global environment. Successfully design and deploy advanced automated protection capabilities such as quarantining, IPSec isolation, whitelisting, etc. at scale across the enterprise will require you leverage a solid understanding of authentication protocols, core network and system security principles along with your up-to-date understanding of modern attack patterns and methods especially in the targeted attack/APT space.

 Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and must be capable of the understanding, documenting, and communicating technical issues in a non-technical manner.

 Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Excel for the purpose of project plan development, documentation and presentation deliverables.

 Must have experience in performing technical policy and standards review as a subject matter expert.

 Must possess past experience performing updates and maintenance of security monitoring technologies.

 Must possess experience in configuring and performing health and wellness monitoring of Windows and Linux servers and networking components.

 Must possess experience in performing administration, review, and recommendations for enterprise Security technologies including firewalls, routers, VPN devices, IDS sensors, Proxy servers, wireless technologies, and PKI.

 Must possess experience in providing administration, review, and recommendations for the following devices: (Windows and UNIX/Linux based), including laptops, desktops, printers, Active Directory Servers, and other workgroup servers outside of the main Active Directory realm.

 Must possess experience in reviewing logs and providing recommendation for risk mitigation.

 Must possess experience in reviewing vulnerability data and performing mitigation of risks present.

 Must possess experience in resolving issues that are formally documented in a Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) report.

 Must possess experience in maintaining hardware, software, operating systems, and application components of a FISMA system. These components include Windows workstations/servers, Linux/Unix servers, Dell, and Accessdata Software products.

 Must possess experience in network design and administration in a cross-domain environment.

This position requires a minimum of three (3) years experience in information systems development, functional and data requirements analysis, systems analysis and design, programming, program design and documentation preparation.

Preferred Qualifications:
One of the following certifications desired: MSCE, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP

Department of Homeland Security experience desired

Must possess SECRET level

Must pass DHS suitability.
