Job Description:
Position will serve as an Engineer with responsibility for collaborating with Planning, Operations and multiple supporting teams to evaluate Broadband network capacity. Engineers will identify remediation required for locations with current and projected future shortfalls. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to line card additions, creation of work orders for site evaluation by Planning teams, requesting of device software upgrades and customer moves, and partnering with field technicians for resolution of issues. Experience on network platforms including DSLAM, Aggregator, switch, and BRAS/BNG routers is essential.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
College degree in Engineering or a related field and 2-4 years professional level experience; or 6+ years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required.

Desired Qualifications:
Candidates with a developed understanding and working knowledge of data networking, which includes experience with management networks, DSL, Ethernet, and IP technologies are highly desired. Preferred skills include the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams and willingness to manage project based assignments. Other desirable qualifications include the ability to apply tools and systems from previous experiences along with scripting or programming skills.

Working knowledge of most aspects transport, data and voice networks
Advanced knowledge of networking
Working knowledge of optical networks and equipment
Independent problem solver; self-directed, self-starting
Good inter-personal and communication skills
Good personal organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and work issues via ticketing system
The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic operations environment
