Job Summary & Mission
This job provides the opportunity to help shape the future of our new store and store renovation approach. The speed in which changes occur in retail has always been fast, but the amount of change required in the new Covid environment has accelerated the need to match the fundamental changes in customer behavior on a level unparalleled in the history of Starbucks. We are seeking a candidate who wants to be a part of a dynamic, fast-paced team working to identify, test, and implement store development initiatives leveraging data to help guide the decision-making approach. This job will include assisting in the development of the problem-solving approach, providing analytical support and thought partnership, while developing and communicating management-level recommendations. Your work will ultimately shape how Starbucks approaches and makes data-driven decisions within store development.
As an Associate Strategy Manager, you will…
Organize assigned portions of problems and projects into logical components, organize a robust work plan, and develop a problem-solving approach.
Lead financial / data analysis with minimal guidance, utilizing creative information sources to access needed data.
Provide thought partnership and analytics to enterprise business units and functions through the new store strategy and store renovation processes.
Manage workload and progress to ensure cross-functional team delivers high-quality work on- time.
Lead projects, represent the strategy team, and partner cross-functionally to design processes and offer strategic problem-solving support.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Financial and statistical understanding
Strong attention to detail
Project management skills for large and complex problems involving multiple sub-teams
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to simplify and structure complex and ambiguous problems
Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into actionable insights
Ability to positively contribute, lead, and develop cross-functional teams
Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
Ability to present complicated material to various audiences in a concise and effective way
Ability to manage and develop people
