Merchandising / Marketing Analyst Intern
As a Merchandising / Marketing Analyst Intern in the Merch/Mktng Analytics Department in Albertsons, you will:
Use both internal data and publicly available data, along with various analytical tools, to identify issues and generate solutions for the merchandising and marketing teams.
Work with merchandising analytics team to evaluate business areas and marketing programs, create reporting scorecards, and build predictive analytical models.
Engage in the delivery and presentation of the solutions.
Expect to work with large amount of data from different systems, including Teradata, IBM DB2 database, and third-party data source like IRI and vendor partners.
Expect to work with cross functional teams and assist with identifying opportunities and solving complex business problems.
Be involved in several projects outlined below, using your educational background in data analytics.
Use statistical analysis to generate customer behavior models.
Analyze pricing and promotional effectiveness and produce detailed reporting, meeting the information needs of senior leadership teams.
Perform analysis on selected underperforming categories to identify sales and profitability opportunities.
Produce scorecards and dashboards to track merchandising vendor performance and contributions.
Ad Hoc analysis - Research, analyze, and answer questions from Merch/Mktng team members; provide graphical and textual reports to the end users with actionable conclusions.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, or Math.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office productive tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and SharePoint.
Exceptional statistical knowledge with the ability to conduct appropriate analysis on diverse data sets.
Proficiency with one of the programing languages including VBA, SQL, or R.
Proficient research skills to locate market information using numerous internal and external data sources.
Experience with data mining, cleansing, manipulation and visualization.
Retail business experience preferred but not required.
