The Cambria Mag Mile is in one of the best locations in Chicago. Our gorgeous hotel is just 1/2 a block off of the famed Magnificent Mile and attracts both business and leisure travelers. Weare seeking highly motivated cook with a passion for exceptional guest service to join our team.
Full Time rotating schedules working 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Weekends and holidays required.

Starting pay is $21.27 per hour, with paid time off, and full benefits!

What will I be doing?

As a Cook, you would be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
  • Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products
  • Stock and maintain designated food station(s)
  • Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
  • Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed

Qualifications

Education:

High School diploma or its equivalent.

Experience:

Two years experience in upscale, high volume hotel or freestanding restaurant or post secondary training/certificate as “Cook” from a recognized culinary training school and one year hands on experience.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of Food Service Sanitation Standards.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of standard kitchen equipment and its use.

Ability to read, write and speak English

Licenses or Certifications:

Must have ability to obtain Food Handlers Card.
