All consultants shall meet the following criteria:
Must be a US Citizen and be able to speak English clearly
A minimum of a master’s degree plus 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) in a relevant field of study from
an accredited (i.e., regional, national or institutional) academic institution
A minimum of 3 years of experience instructing adult learners to include academic settings as well as
professional settings such as government agencies or offices
A minimum of 2 years of experience in the field for which they are delivering instruction
Experience can be associated with teaching in academia, living or working within the region; serving as an
analytic subject matter expert for the region, etc.
Must be a subject expert in the specific region and be able to deliver a professional and interactive program.
Must be well versed on the country or region and provide current content.
Must have experience designing a 3-5-day program on the region of expertise.
Must have exceptional stand-up presentation and facilitation skills.
Need to follow a syllabus and design the curriculum.
The program needs to be interactive and include videos, case studies, activities analyzing different types of
maps of countries and region.
The curriculum must include the following information:
Current events and trends that effect the country/region
Geography – important information connected to creating maps and collecting and analyzing
geographical data, such as population density, demographic characteristics, and annual precipitation
History and culture
Government model and processes
Indigenous, ethnic, and religious groups
Urban and rural geography
Transportation and infrastructure
Other topics as applicable: Immigration and migration; civil war and regional/international conflict; nuclear
proliferation; labor relations
