Duties:
- Provide direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medication and assist with tube feeding as required.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, including monitoring behavior changes and implementing appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, following dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and doctors, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide end-of-life care for patients in hospice settings.
- Assist residents in assisted living facilities with their daily needs.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Compassion and empathy to provide quality care and support to individuals in need.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently while adhering to established care plans.
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures and techniques related to patient care.
- Ability to adapt to different environments and handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
