Wohlsen Construction Company, founded in 1890, provides construction management, general contracting, and design/build services to clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Regions. We are seeking a highly motivated Project Accountant who enjoys working hard, learning and being challenged.

Responsibilities

Job Cost:
Monthly review of job costs reports and project cost tracking reports for accuracy and alignment with budget; make corrections and updates as directed by project managers. Prepare final project cost tracking reports upon job completion.

Contract Billing:
Preparation and issuance of monthly project AIA pay applications to owners/owners reps. This includes presentation of scheduled values; review of subcontractor pay applications, billing approved subcontractor costs; holding/billing retention per contract; and billing labor, general conditions, overhead and fee. The process also includes preparing appropriate contractor sworn statements and contractor conditional and unconditional waivers as required by the contract. The accountant works closely with the project teams.

Subcontractor Payables:
Review the posting of approved invoices to job cost; allocation and release of retainage; and review of payments to be issued to subcontractors upon funding - including all related aspects - approved subcontracts and revisions, and correct subcontractor waivers and sworn statements.
Enter budgets for new projects as provided by the estimating department.
Enter approved owner contract change orders.
Review of owner contracts.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 - 5 years accounting experience; preferably in the construction industry
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience with CMiC software desired
Must be well organized, possess attention to detail, able to multi-task, understand the need to document work and have the ability to work with several different project managers concurrently.
