The Manager, Valuation Operations is responsible for leading the effort to determine the valuation of new and used valuations across the vehicle segments. This includes leading a group of highly motivated Analysts that are responsible for vehicle valuations for Cox Automotive. In order to successfully fulfill these responsibilities, the Manager will lead the team in analyzing large datasets and determine appropriate action as it relates to valuation adjustments. This includes working with other departments within the Cox Automotive Data Solutions organization and more specifically the Data Science teams. In addition, the Manager, Valuation Operations will be responsible for ad hoc projects working with internal and external clients and partners.
PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Lead a team of highly motivated Valuation Analysts.
Collaborate with both internal and external clients to educate the market on KBB values.
Lead, develop, and mentor Analysts on the team.
Stay current on the automotive industry.
Lead the training, development, and work assignments of the team.
Provide support across all value types and engage with automotive dealers, manufacturers, financial institutions, and consumers as required.
Keep current on trends, market conditions, product development, and other information related to new and used vehicles.
Meet with representatives from automotive manufacturers, financial institutions, and dealers that leverage Cox Automotive values. This includes attending industry events such as seminars and product meetings as required.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimal overnight travel (up to 5%) by land and/or air.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or other-related field.
Master’s Degree in Business, Communications or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
6 to 8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong mathematical/quantitative knowledge to engage with Statisticians and Data Scientists.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to report valuation data trends in a timely manner.
Technical skills preferred as Analysts are highly technical roles.
Highly motivated individual looking to push team to succeed.
Strong communication skills to engage with internal and external clients on valuations.
Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes in order to meet business requirements.
Prior automotive experience preferred.
