Position Description

Job Summary and Scope:
The National Account Manager 2 is a Senior level role within the VLS Transportation Brokerage. The National Account Manager 2 is a process and subject matter expert that works on a team responsible for managing large, complex transportation accounts.

Job Responsibilities:
Maintain relationship with high-level customer contacts
Ability to travel and lead business reviews with National Accounts
Communicates with customer to understand needs and uses this information to improve processes within National Account team.
Train other National Account Managers on brokerage processes
Develops solutions for customer independently, with Sales rep or manager
Responsible for all of customer’s transportation pricing
Ensure all of customer’s loads are created in TMS and tracking info is provided to customer on 100% of loads.
Produce reporting based on customer KPIs (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
Lead face-to-face quarterly business reviews.
Thorough working knowledge of MercuryGate.
Identify, monitor and resolve potential problematic customer issues including service failures etc.
Maintain open lines of communication with external and internal customers (including afterhours availability)
Assist in the training and mentoring of Account Managers
Recommends changes in process and procedures based on customer feedback

Required Skills:
Thorough understanding of brokerage market; including truckload costing
Customer first mentality
Ability to multitask and operate effectively in a fast paced environment
Excellent written/verbal communication skills
Strong PC skills; Excel, Outlook, Word

Required Experience/Education:
College degree with concentration in supply chain or logistics; preferred
2+ years’ experience in Transportation Brokerage or Account Management
