WHAT YOU’LL DO
Field Service Technician is responsible for performing onsite installation services, ensuring functionality according to our scope of work, and delivering an exceptional customer service experience.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive, onsite audio-visual equipment installation, including low voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack setup, plasma/LCD, projectors and projection systems, audio hardware and speakers, control systems.
- Perform cable pull paths, diagnosis structural/room interior for efficient and optimum installations, solder, crimp and terminate audio and video cables.
- Perform custom mounting solutions for medical customers, including but not limited to, medical grade carts, wall mounts, tracking boards, patient room displays, etc.
- Assist in commissioning of AV systems.
- Troubleshoot AV systems ranging from simple to complex.
- Perform firmware updates.
- Perform preventative maintenance service visits.
- Complete basic math to coordinate infrastructure like power, data, backing, etc.
- Provide technical phone-support for customer reported issues.
- Travel to various job sites- must have a reliable vehicle to use and transport equipment or tools. A company vehicle may be provided after the introductory 60 day period but is not guaranteed.
- Work a flexible schedule when required, including evenings or weekends when applicable.
- Preform documentation as needed: Internal Work Order updates reflecting the service provided and assets deployed, external customer updates reflecting the completion or status of a project, internal daily report provision, and various project-related documentation or reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Haves:
- Minimum 2 years’ installation experience managing a diverse operation preferably in the Audio Visual or Construction industry
- Experience performing comprehensive, onsite audio-visual equipment installation, including low voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack setup, plasma/LCD, projectors and projection systems, audio hardware and speakers, control systems
- Experience performing cable pull paths, diagnosis structural/room interior for efficient and optimum installations, solder, crimp and terminate audio and video cables
- Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
- Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems related tasks
- Ability to terminate all A/V type connectors, such as BNC, XLR, 1/4", 3.5mm, RJ45's, F, Keystone Jacks, etc.
- Must be able to terminate CAT 5, CAT 6, Coax, and Audio cables
- Must be able to think quickly and troubleshoot low voltage AV equipment; ie Conference room systems, TV's, projectors, cabling, sound systems, etc.
- Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video, and control
- Exceptional strategic thinking and structured problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Thorough documentation skills that would sufficiently describe service performed or issues found technically as will as simple or laymen enough for customers to understand
- Excellent capability to switch tasks while adapting to changing priorities
- Enthusiastic self-starter capable of working independently
- Reliable transportation to ensure arrival to and from work. Vehicle must be able to hold required tools and equipment, as needed
- Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets driving standards
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

NOTES:
- Candidates without commercial AV experience DO NOT APPLY. This is not an entry level position
- ETS and its customer sites are non-smoking locations
- Potential requirement to show proof of COVID or flu vaccine to meet customer requirement
- ETS reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account.
- Candidate must be able to answer after hours service calls within a 4 hour window.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
