The Medical Office Assistant works at the front desk at a TrustCare clinic and attends to patient needs face-to-face or over the phone. The MOA will coordinate the patients entering the clinic to ensure that the check in and check out process runs smoothly as well as support the delivery of quality patient care. Strong customer service skills are required and attention to detail is a must.
Registers patients according to established protocols.
Assists patients with completing all necessary forms.
Ensures patient information is accurate and up-to-date including insurance billing information.
Maintains and manages patient records while following HIPAA guidelines.
Answers incoming calls and manages the inquiries.
Collects co-pays, previous balances, or payments on account balances.
Completes other clerical duties as assigned.
Ensures the reception area is well maintained, tidy, and clean.
Safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Familiar with medical terminology
Strong computer skills
Minimum of one year of healthcare clerical experience
Attention to detail and able to multi-task
Working knowledge of healthcare insurance required
