Deli Manager Job Description
Duties:
- Oversee the daily operations of the deli department, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow
- Manage and train deli staff, including scheduling and assigning tasks
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times
- Prepare and serve deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and soups
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any customer concerns or inquiries
- Monitor sales and implement strategies to increase profitability
- Collaborate with other departments, such as catering or banquet, to fulfill special orders or events
- Stay updated on industry trends and introduce new menu items to attract customers
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a deli or food service management role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of banquet, bartending, catering, food production, hotel, coffee, or assistant manager roles is a plus
